Q. What is Media Lab?
Media Lab is a monthly event series hosted by LAUREL that connects emerging newsmakers with local media opportunities. Journalists, new media platforms, founders, spokespersons and comms pros join us each month to discuss trending issues over coffee. You can see all events here.
Q. What is the outcome?
We aim to build new relationships between expert sources and journalists, inspire new story ideas and facilitate the exchange of expert insights. Since launching, we’ve seen a growing number of partnerships and stories published that originated from Media Lab relationships.
Q. Does it cost to attend?
Media Lab events are open to the public and a small fee is charged to confirm attendance. However, journalists and Media Lab members always attend for free.
Q. How often does it happen?
Every first Wednesday of the month, we host a coffee mixer event in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Subscribe to the calendar on Luma for updates.
Q. What can I expect?
Expect to meet local leaders and media professionals in a casual environment. Be curious. Ask what other attendees are experts about and seek connection points. Our team members and volunteers are there to make aligned introductions based on the information you provided at registration. Also, expect great drinks crafted from the menu at SK Coffee.

Q. Where do I go when I arrive?
Media Lab: MSP is hosted at SK Coffee at Vandalia Tower. Lot and street parking is available free of charge. Enter the doors on either side of the building and find the coffee shop on the main level. Check in at the bar, find your name tag, and order a drink on us!
